Clearing is an opportunity for students to go to university who do not hold a current offer of a place, or who have missed, or declined, the offers they do have.
Main Clearing begins on 15 August, which is A Levels Results Day, and runs until mid-October.
To be eligible to enter Clearing you will need to have completed an UCAS application.
To prepare for Clearing:
- Check out university websites
- Find a course that appeals to you
- Keep calm. There is a course out there for you
- Your UCAS ID number (if you have one)
- Your certificates and transcripts
- A short personal statement
For students who find that they have exceeded their predicated grades, Adjustment offers the opportunity to apply elsewhere.
The process for Adjustment is similar to that for Clearing, with the key difference being that you need to register with UCAS first.
Adjustment opens on 15 August.
Clearing and Adjustment at SOAS
SOAS has a number of vacancies available during Clearing and Adjustment for well qualified students hoping to study in a cosmopolitan academic environment on its central London campus.
Undergraduates discover a fascinatingly diverse, lively and close-knit community, and friendly fellow students who share an intellectual interest in the contemporary issues in which SOAS specialises.
Degree combinations in law, politics, economics, finance, business, management, the arts, humanities and languages provide many options for study, in either single-subject or two-subject (combined) degrees. Additionally, more than 40% of undergraduate programmes offer the opportunity to spend a year studying in another country.
Pay us a visit before making your final choice by joining one of our campus tours. From 16 August to 23 August, tours will run at 11AM, 1PM and 3PM. At other times of the year, tours run every Wednesday and Friday at 2PM. Turn up at the reception desk of our Russell Square building to attend.
Enjoy your studies
Good luck to everyone going through Clearing and Adjustment this year and have an incredible time wherever you decide to study.
